Ready to Rumble: 10 Incredible Fight Scenes With Amazing Female Film Heroines
Did the Black Widow’s opening scene in The Avengers leave you in awe? Here are nine more female film heroines to watch out for!
-Diana Denza
As one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, The Avengers certainly did deliver on its promise of high-stakes battles and caped crusaders rocking spandex! And one of those heroes was none other than the feisty Black Widow, who managed to captivate –and terrify– audiences with some serious ass-kicking magic.
But she’s not the only gal capable of busting up the bad guys. We’ve rounded up 10 of the best fight scenes involving female heroines and their ill-fated opponents. So suit up and tune in to the most badass battles in heroine history!
1. The Avengers (2012): Natasha Romanova aka the Black Widow’s Call to Action
This fight scene? Epic. But what really sold us was how the deadly assassin (Scarlett Johanssen) both took and doled out a few punches in sheer tights and a party dress. See? You can exude sex appeal while beating down a troupe of bad guys!
2. The Hunger Games (2012): Katniss Everdeen Shoots an Apple
The rebellious Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) sets her world ablaze, and it is in this scene where we first see the Girl on Fire start to spark. By sending her arrow straight through that apple, she takes a stand against the Capitol’s extreme lavishness and blatant disregard for human dignity. Not many could do all that with a red delicious.

3. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2011): Lisbeth Salander Meets Her Rapist in An Elevator
It took Stieg Larsson three books to properly convey the badassery of Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara); I, on the other hand, will simply show you how the tiny heroine scared the living daylights out of her rapist in this elevator scene. We’ll let you watch the full movie for the rest, but we think it’s safe to say that this chick could terrify any evildoer.
